as a corresponding member they can request to be considered for voting
or international membership.
New applicants must apply before November 1 to be elligible for membership the next July 1. |
Mission of ASHRAE TC 2.6: To develop, promote and
disseminate information and tools that enable HVAC System
Engineers, Contractors, Manufacturers, and Owners to
design and implement quiet air
conditioning systems.
MEMBERSHIP DEFINITIONS Membership in the Committee is open to any person with an interest in the activities of the Committee as defined by its Scope. Members are expected to take an active part in the activities of the Committee. There are three (3) classes of Committee membership: corresponding Member, Voting Member and International Member of the Committee. Only Voting Members may vote on matters that come before the Committee. Voting Members - The technical committee shall have a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 18 Voting Members at all times. Voting

-- Corresponding members may apply for voting membership status
on the Committee by submitting a request in writing to the
Committee
chairperson. It is required that an individual serve at least one (1)
year as a Corresponding Member before being appointed a Voting Member
of the Committee.
Voting members are expected to take an active role in the activities of the Committee and its Subcommittees as well as attend Committee meetings. Failure to do so could result in not being re-appointed as a Voting Member. Requests for voting membership status will be reviewed by the Executive Subcommittee who will approve or reject the request at the winter meeting of the Committee. The approval or rejection of the applicant shall be by a majority vote of the Executive Subcommittee. Only one individual from any employer (including universities and government agencies) can be a Voting Member on the Committee. A member is accepted on the Committee as a Voting Member for a term of one (1) year. They may be re-appointed for a maximum of four (4) consecutive terms. After being a Corresponding Member for one (1) year, a member may again request to be a Voting Member. A Corresponding Member is expected to be active in the Committee and its subcommittees and attend meetings. An application, including relevant acoustical experience, interest in the activities of the Committee, and a willingness to work for the Committee is required and should be submitted to either the Committee Chairperson or to the Membership Task Group for review. |
